Our master bedroom refresh: The Beautiful Bedrooms Tour

blog hop, home sweet home, room tour, Styling

Hello!! Welcome to the Beautiful Bedrooms Tour hosted by sweet Tammy from Pink Pepper Mint Design! This tour has been happening all week and if you are just joining me from Follow The Yellow Brick Home, welcome! I trust you left Amber’s beautiful post inspired. Let’s keep it rolling with today’s post on our master bedroom that I am the first to admit, doesn’t get very much love! With a little switcheroo and swapping of at home items, I think the room is looking more loved and feeling more easy to come and relax!

(Affiliate links may be in this post. As always, all thoughts are my own!)

My favorite thing to do when a room is feeling tired or just needs some attention is to just shop the home. We recently had to move some things out of the family room and our loved solitude print from CC and Mike’s Print shop was the perfect start to changes in here. We also moved this rug and the extra long throw pillow  in here because the room really needed some color and they pair perfectly with the print! The pillow is from Tonic Living which carries awesome pillows and home accessories. Their inserts are such great quality and probably one of the best ones I own. The white tassel pillows are fun Homegoods finds. I love a good throw pillow and these 2 places are my top places to find them!

Loomstead bedding recently came out with this bamboo duvet + pillow shams set in white and was so kind to send a set over for us to experience along with a linen sheet and pillowcases set in Natural. Both sets feel so luxurious and soft. The bamboo material is soo buttery soft. Like I have no other way to describe it’s so smooth and soft and I think it will be perfect for summer. The linen material is beautiful and I love the slouchy fit. It gives that casual feel while still feeling luxurious if that makes sense. I love both sets and would highly recommend if you’re in the market for a great set.

Our night stands were borrowed from the living room but they may just stay. They are small enough to not take up too much space and built to hold the things you want next to you: a task lamp, phone charger, a shelf below for books and pretty things to display when you’re in the mood! I recently bought these storage boxes for our side table for those loose items since our drawers are both filled with chargers and junk that I probably can throw away. His side table box is a faux bone inlay and wood. It’s super cute and a Target find! My box is a real bone inlay with a cute pattern by Isaac Mizrahi and a fun find from Homegoods.

I also like to move this rattan chair from Ikea around the house. It doesn’t take up too much space and it’s super cute and easy to sit in. It’s not a napping chair but perfect for throwing our access pillows (and a pair of jeans) before we jump into bed. The white tassel pillows were all Homegoods finds and that cute blue pillow is also from Tonic Living.

The dresser and bed frame is our oldest furniture. The dresser has been with us since our first apartment so I just can’t quit this thing. It also holds the perfect amount of clothes!

This is bad but I bought the wood accordion wall hooks about a year ago and never hung them up til this week. Even my husband noticed and said “finally”. I have no idea why I waited so long to hang it up because it’s perfect in here and will definitely help keep the room a little tidier. I also have some of my go to sandals out since Spring arrived here in the Bay Area. You can find the black ones here. The huarache sandals are found here. I’ve worn these like crazy lately cause they go with everything and also come in black. You can find the sandals on the very left here.

We added some fresh greenery in here to give it the fresh feel this room deserves! We have plans to update this room starting with removing popcorn ceilings and removing this closet to make room for a bigger bathroom, but we can show these in-between spaces some love as we wait, right?! The Agape candle fits in pretty much all around the house so don’t mind me while I move this around to make every room smell yummy!

It’s all in the details! Speaking of details, there’s so much going on over here that I need to share with you guys, like our new kitchen island install, a global inspired living room I’ll be sharing right here next week and a bedroom turned office/ playroom remodel we are currently working on. Be sure to subscribe at the bottom of this post to stay in the know with what projects are going on over here. You can also follow me on Instagram and Pinterest where I share more!

Pillows, especially, should be washed at least two to four times a year (say, every four months) to help them last longer. But not all types of pillows down, fiberfill, and foam should be treated in the same way.
