One Room Challenge: Breakfast Nook Final Reveal (Week 6)

Bloggers Challenge

It’s been a crazy 6 weeks doing this one room challenge and I am so excited to share a final reveal of the breakfast nook which is built right into the kitchen. Here’s a round up of the past 5 weeks:

week 1 week 2 week 3 week 4 week 5

Here’s a picture I took last week right when my table was painted and the room was ready for styling. Tags still on the chairs. LOL.

Here’s the space when we moved into this house:

And here we are at the end of this 6 week challenge:

Here’s when we first moved our stuff in, the first week with all the mess:

Here’s today with a finished breakfast nook:

I wish I took better befores, but I just remember having bad morning sickness and was more concerned about just surviving another day. Blog pics were the last things on my mind. LOL.

Anyway here’s more of our newly finished nook!
birdseye view:

Our rug from Rugs USA didn’t make it on time so I’ll definitely share with you when it does come, but we had this rug for another space and thankfully it worked in this space for today. Remember our beautiful Nuloom rug that I wanted to have layered below? Well it didn’t look good layered with this rug so we just stuck with this one which you can find here.

The lights:

we went with these lights for the wall sconces from a recommendation from my friend Mysha here, and decided to use the same one to go above the sink. I totally love this light that hangs over our table which I got here. It gives a relaxed yet polished look and that’s one of my favorite combos!

The table:

I originally planned to go with white paint, but so glad we chose grey! I shared all about it in week 5.

the bench:

This bench was installed before this challenge but it looks so much better now that everything is done! This was an Ikea hack and perfect for life with kids. We used the Ikea Sektion system and used the cabinets that are meant for going above the fridge as the base for the bench. It took 3 of those to build this and it has held up really well! I am still in need of a customized cushion and will get to that soon. If you have used a company for this before, I’d love to hear your suggestions!

the gallery wall:

Isn’t this gallery wall everythang?! I know I keep saying it, but the colors and the creativity in Maren’s art makes my heart happy. It is the perfect view for my every morning cup of coffee. I shared all about it on week 3 and 5, and you can find all her art here.

pillows:

The 2 hand-dyed indigo shibori pillows were a steal from Restoration Hardware. The white pillow with the printed dash lines are from Three Little Warriors which is actually from my friend Karla’s new kid line, but I thought it was a fun touch for the bench. The floral watercolor pillow is from my friend Jolie. Her pillows are so soft and pretty. You can find this pillow and more here.

shades:

I absolutely love these shades from The Shade Store. We have them here in both windows of the kitchen/breakfast nook and in our guest bathroom. They are such great quality and it gives the perfect natural touch to the space. Just like our light fixture, these shades also have the perfect combination of relaxed and polished.

table setting:

I pulled from the blues and pinks that’s found in the art and pillows. With touches of gold like the rest of the space. My favorite new pink plates are from Ikea and was a recommendation from my girls over at Classy Clutter. They have such fun styles! The napkins were purchased earlier this year and thought they would be perfect for this setting.

Seating:
I shared all about our bistro chairs in week 5 and I am absolutely loving them! They are super kid friendly and so fun! Also, if you didn’t already notice, I shared both a 4 seated table and a 6 seated table setting through out the post. We got that bench from Ikea because in reality we have a big family and it was just more convenient to have more seating. This space has definitely been busier than our dining room lately and I am ok with that.

Hope you guys enjoyed our final share on this one room challenge! Let me know your thoughts or if I didn’t get any of your questions answered in this post. And thank you so much for going through these projects with me. I seriously appreciate you being here! Make sure to head to Calling It Home to see so many other awesome projects from some of my awesome blogger friends!

ALMA!! I’m dead. You knocked it out of the ball park my friend. I actually love that rug in there. It ties all of the soft hues together and the gallery wall is just so beautiful!! I love everything… EVERYTHING!

thanks Yuni! I love that rug too! I had to switch it out though because the soft hues I’m sure won’t conceal those soon to come spills that will happen! I do already miss it but I also love the current rug so we’re good!I’m so glad you liked the space!
