For me, Valentines Day decorating is all about having fun and embracing all things girly. I wasn’t always a Valentines girly, but it’s fun dolling up pockets of the home with a few Valentines Day touches. We have a pretty neutral home, which I think makes it super easy to switch up decor for different seasons and holidays. Here’s our table all dressed up for a Valentines Day tea time.

Brody and I hung out here this morning for a cup of tea. He got dressed for the occasion with his gray hoodie. Haha! My robe totally matched my table too! Also, props to my sweet 7 year old girl for taking a few pics of us. I pay her in boba dates 😉

If you follow me on IG you’ve already met Brody. He’s been with us since September and he’s 6 months old. He truly is the cutest but still learning how to behave and not chew on my things. Yikes! You can see a video of his first week with us here.

3 easy tips to creating a collected eclectic table setting

  1. Mixing and matching in some way will give your table charm. Old and new, different genres of designs, different patterns and styles, etc. I did that with my napkins, tea pots, and tea cups. I love that they are all different patterns and really make a table interesting.
  2. Repeat something to ground the table setting. For me, I did that with my napkin rings, placemats and appetizer plates. It helps the table feel more cohesive and gives it that feeling of pulling everything together.
  3. Add something a little quirky or something that pops. What would be your first guess for this table? If you guessed the vase, you’re totally right. I love the pop of chinoiserie. It goes back to just having fun with decorating for Valentines Day.

The best thing about an eclectic look is that you can look through things you have on hand, things you maybe have collected over the years that didn’t necessarily come as a “set”, but with this formula, you can make it work.
