A relaxed blush and terra-cotta friendsgiving tablescape

blog hop, tablescape

Being able to let your hair down and just hang out with the girls is something I’ve realized in my 30’s I’ve totally unintentionally taken for granted! There are just those few women where together, we can share our deepest hurts and struggles, encourage one another, ask for prayer, share those super embarrassing moments, and just share the things that are near and dear to our hearts.. and together we can also rejoice for answered prayer, build each other up, encourage, ugly laugh til we can’t laugh no more.. I’m sure as you read this, you’re probably thinking of a few ladies as well! These relationships are rare and yet I fail to cultivate and cherish them as I should. It’s definitely something I am working on!

This friendsgiving table is a reflection of the kind of tablescape I think my friends would totally enjoy! A touch of girly, but not too fussy. Simple and casual. A place to just come and kick off our shoes, have a little break from the busyness of life, ministry, and just enjoy each others company! Doesn’t that sound refreshing?! Well that’s how I leave everytime I’m with these ladies: refreshed! So the hope is that at this table, the ladies enjoy one another and leave the same way I leave when I’m with them!

Much like the tablescape, the food is also simple and filling. A yummy soup (probably hearty, because these girls don’t mess with anything less, HA), toasted french bread because who doesn’t want to dip things in their soup, and a fall inspired salad. Coffee and tea is also nearby because if there’s something us girls love to do, it’s drink those hot beverages this time of year!

When creating a tablescape, I tend to build off one thing that I’m drawn to that season. In this case, I’ve been really drawn to rosey, terra-cotta, blush colors and found these pretty napkins here and knew it was the perfect thing to build off of for this friendsgiving table. From there, I knew they would pair well with these dried florals that have a little boho vibe to them. The cups are a blush color that I already owned and they tied in well. I did feel like it needed a little shine, so I added in some gold with the brass candle sticks, the pumpkin chai scented candle, and the spoons and forks which are all items I already had on hand also.

A little tip: when purchasing home decor pieces for the seasons, try to pick items that’s not limited to just one season. When I do splurge on seasonal items that are specific for that season, they generally are items that I feel are timeless and will use for many seasons to come. Otherwise, I’m pretty frugal with it.

In case you were thinking of doing an evening friendsgiving with the girls, this totally works in the evening. This table is fuss free but also works just as well in the evening! That’s the thing about those fuss free tables, they are appropriate for breakfast, lunch or dinner and makes it pretty easy to layer on some pieces to give it a little more foof. Foof is my word for fancy. More vavavoom I guess, haha!

See, and you thought I was crazy! Dinner can be just as fuss free, right? Don’t get me wrong, I love a dressed up table, but this year, friendsgiving is going to be simple and relaxed!

I switched out my centerpiece just for fun and dressed it up with a mum and eucalyptus arrangement and it instantly feels dressed up. Added a few pumpkins in, and bam, it’s a fall centerpiece. I would probably add some natural colored napkins in here just to keep the centerpiece the star of the show and stick to a simple and fuss free table.
