Spring master bedroom refresh with mustard and charcoal

product love, room tour

Who’s been spring cleaning recently? I have been making my way around the house, and this week it was time to work upstairs, starting with our bedroom. Since the temp is getting warmer around here lately, it was also the perfect time to switch out our flannel bedding for some lighter fabrics.

Neutral bedding has my heart, but I wanted to add a little pop of color for spring, so I pulled in a little mustard and charcoal to give our spring bedding some fun. I also threw in a vintage pillow, because it’s the easiest and classiest way to also add in a little charm and some fun pattern.

I also love choosing bedding that’s pretty relaxed because 1) I absolutely love the look of a polished yet relaxed space and 2) the girls seem to always find their way in here to read together (can you guess who gets distracted pretty easily), take naps, or just hang out. My sister and I totally did the same thing when we were little, so it makes me smile everytime!

Spring bedding addition

So we worked with our sponsors The Company Store to switch out our bedding with these things in mind. I’ve used their bedding before, so I already am familiar with the great quality. I wanted something classic, relaxed, light weight, and soft which led me to the Legends Hotel™ Relaxed Linen Duvet Cover in Parchment, Legends Hotel™ Relaxed Linen Flat Sheet in Cinder and Legends Hotel™ Relaxed Linen Pillowcases in Mustard. I kept it uniform with the same fabric, but mixed it up with the color choices to add some personality.

I knew I wanted to add a little print with my pillowcases, so I also grabbed a pair of these Company Cotton™ Paisley Percale Pillowcases in Gray and I think it totally adds in another layer of interest. I topped off my bedding with a Gossamer Cotton Blanket in Parchment that’s made up of 3 gauzy layers of cotton. It comes in a lot of color choices, but to keep it simple, I went with Parchment to keep it tone on tone with the duvet. It does have a slight pink undertone compared to the duvet, so if you’re looking for a perfect match, this isn’t it. But I think the pink undertone really compliments the soft pinks in the vintage pillow. I linked our bedding at the bottom of this post.

I threw in this creamy textured throw pillow also from The Company Store but it looks like it’s no longer available. I also love adding a vintage pillow whenever possible! They’re my fave! This one was an Etsy find.

Spring bedding tips

My biggest tips for spring bedding is to keep it lightweight with the fabric choices and to mix it up with some pops of color. The easiest way to do that is to pick the same fabric, and just mix it up with the color choices ( I like to do a max of 3 colors) and add a pop of print to spice things up! I went with a larger print with the paisley and a more busy print with the vintage pillow which really compliments each other.

Who’s ready to give your space a spring refresh?! Next I’ll be working on giving one of our living spaces and outdoor space a little spring refresh and will share that soon.
